These Jupiter pictures are some of the best I have seen from an amateur astrophotographer. The pictures of Jupiter are all taken with a 10" telescope. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and is mostly comprised of gas. It takes Jupiter about 12 years to make a complete orbit around our sun.

A group of amateur astronomers has used the 2.1-meter (82-inch) Otto Struve Telescope at McDonald Observatory to make the first "through-the- Eyepiece" sighting of so-called the tenth planet, an object orbiting the Sun in the Kuiper Belt, far beyond Pluto.
